A halo of silver flames makes it so much harder to cheer for Nesta and Cassian

A halo of silver flames makes it so much harder to cheer for Nesta and Cassian

Summary

  • Nesta and Cassian’s relationship in A Court of Silver Flames faces challenges due to a lack of quality time spent together and an unhealthy dynamic.
  • The couple’s romance seems unconvincing, there are constant arguments and a lack of intimacy.
  • Future ACOTAR books should focus on improving their relationship by encouraging honest conversations and healthier interactions.

Nesta and Cassian finally came together in A Court of Silver Flamesbut certain scenes in her story have made it much harder to be for her. Nesta and Cassian were one of the many “will they or won’t they” relationships in the books over the course of Court of Thorns and Roses timeline that finally consummates their relationship and declares their love in the latest book, A Court of Silver Flames. However, it took a while to get there.

On the surface, Nesta and Cassian are like fire and water. He is open and cheerful and she is sharp and reserved. Nevertheless, it became clear early on in the books that they were meant for each other. Nevertheless, It can sometimes be hard to cheer for Nesta and Cassian as a couple because their path to love was so rocky that this love is not entirely credible. The next Court of Thorns and Roses Book will have to work hard to correct the relationship mistakes of A Court of Silver Flames.

8 Theories About the Next Court of Thorns & Roses Book That I Hope Come True

There are several wild theories about A Court of Thorns and Roses, and there are a few great ones that I really hope turn out to be correct in the next ACOTAR book.

“A Court of Silver Flames” fails to sell Cassian and Nesta’s love story

They hardly spend any meaningful time together

The problem with Cassian and Nesta’s love story in A Court of Silver Flames is that in reality there is none. Nothing about Nesta and Cassian’s relationship suggests anything other than the intensity of the mating bond and lust, but that is not love. Sure, their sex scenes are erotic and graphic, but even their sex seems angry; there’s not much love to be seen either.

This awesome ACOTAR theory would FINALLY save the story of a completely wasted character

The ACOTAR series has significantly undervalued some fascinating characters, but one fan theory develops the perfect story arc for a completely neglected character.

It does not help that Even in the previous books, no real love relationship was initiated between Nesta and Cassian. Nesta was prickly and unlikable for most of the first two books, and she got even worse after her father’s death. At best, she was a shadow of her former self, spending her days in a drunken haze or in bed with random men. During this time, Cassian’s inner circle rarely saw her, as she isolated herself across town.

Nesta finally crawls out of her well of grief and begins training with Cassian and Azriel. But even after she does that, She spends little time with Cassian that isn’t spent training and fighting. Frankly, the two of them just don’t have much time to get to know each other in a meaningful and intimate way. Most of their time is spent with Nesta either pushing Cassian away or Cassian being frustrated with Nesta. And yet, as the books show, Cassian somehow knows Nesta better than anyone else, even though he doesn’t know her at all. That’s just not how people and relationships work.

Why it’s so hard to cheer for Nesta and Cassian in A Court of Silver Flames

Your relationship is not healthy at all

A Court of Silver Flames leans a little too much on the old, misguided cliche that constant arguing and being mean to each other just means that two people love each other but are unable to say it. As mentioned above, They argue constantly and neither of them minces their words. Nesta is particularly brutal and cruel in her cutting answers, especially during her grieving phase. Cassian, for his part, is only a little better.

To be honest, their relationship isn’t all that stable. Nesta spends much of the novel being awful, but she was the only one who was right when she told Feyre that giving birth to her sister would cost her life. Nesta told Feyre in a moment of anger and frustration, but she wasn’t wrong to tell her. Still, everyone else acts like Nesta is the one being unreasonable, and she believes it. When Cassian takes her out of town and takes her on her long trek to avoid Rhysand’s wrath, Nesta even believes Cassian is taking her out of town to kill her. This is not a healthy relationship by any definition.

How Sarah J. Maas can improve their relationship in future ACOTAR books

They must have honest, intimate scenes with each other

The next ACOTAR Book, in contrast to A Court of Silver Flameswill probably not focus on Nesta and Cassian, but Elain will be the protagonist. Nevertheless, Nesta and Cassian will probably be there as supporting characters, and Your relationship can continue to evolve, even if she is no longer the focus. When and if that happens, Sarah J. Maas needs to make sure it’s healthier than it’s been portrayed in the past. There should be honest conversations and no more walls between them – certainly no more intentionally cutting comments. If the next book does that, it will go a long way toward fixing it A Court of Silver Flames‘ problems.
