LeBron James fans demand legal action against angry fan who revealed his location after being denied a selfie

NBA superstar LeBron James is one of the most famous sports personalities in the world, but fame can also have its dark sides. The Lakers star learned this the hard way on a recent trip to New York.

In a video posted on June 27, just hours before it was announced that Bronny James would be the Los Angeles Lakers’ newest draftee alongside his father, an angry fan made LeBron James’ location public after being denied a photo with the NBA star.

James was spotted at a restaurant in New York City. Apparently, the fan was turned away by security when he approached him and asked for a photo. In retaliation, the fan took a video and told other fans to “pull up.”

“Yo, Bron dubbed my picture,” the fan said. “I’m about to make his picture hot as hell.”

“Everybody come here. The n–ga eats lunch here,” the fan said, before pointing out the restaurant James was dining at. According to the post, the restaurant was Au Cheval in Lower Manhattan.

“If you want a picture with LeBron, everybody come up here… right now. He’s having lunch with Dwyane Wade,” the man said before the video ended.

James was not seen in the video. However, the fan showed several vehicles that presumably belonged to James and his entourage.

When the video went viral, other fans condemned the man for revealing the NBA star’s location.

“A grown man did all this because of a photo,” explained one social media user.

“You damn entitlement people,” said another fan. “This is why famous people hate you all so much and don’t even want to interact with you anymore. You have no boundaries and think they OWE you attention just because you see them on TV or listen to their music. They don’t owe you shit.”

Other fans felt that the man’s actions should have consequences.

“He needs to be arrested for this childish behavior. Thank God nothing happened,” one X user explained.

Another fan ranted, “He’s so cheesy. LeBron or any other athlete has no right to take a photo with you just because you’re a fan. And posting his location knowing how bad the world is is awful. I don’t usually agree with people getting sued but this is an exception!!!”

“This legal ordeal is going to be very unpleasant. Doxxing and cyberstalking and I hope Bron pushes to prove something with this,” tweeted a third fan.

It is unclear whether James was actually in the restaurant at the time, as the video did not provide visual confirmation. James lives in Los Angeles, but may have traveled to New York for the 2024 NBA Draft. The annual event took place in Brooklyn on June 26 and 27. James’ eldest son Bronny was drafted by the Lakers on June 27. Bronny will now have the opportunity to play alongside his father in the NBA.

James took to social media to celebrate his eldest son’s selection. “LEGACY!!!!!!” James captioned an Instagram photo of himself sitting courtside with young Bronny.
