18-year-old Auburn man charged in fatal Seattle shooting

The King County District Attorney’s Office has charged an Auburn man in a May murder in Seattle.

On June 12, prosecutors charged 18-year-old Caution M. Anderson of Auburn with three separate felony counts – including second-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and theft of a motor vehicle – in connection with the shooting death of a 29-year-old man.

According to the King County Medical Examiner, 29-year-old Javonte W. Isadore-Danning died on May 25 from multiple gunshot wounds sustained outdoors at the corner of Occidental Avenue and Yesler Way in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood. The medical examiner ruled Isadore-Danning’s death a homicide.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the Seattle Fire Department pronounced Isadore-Danning dead at the scene.

Anderson, whose birthday was June 15, was 17 at the time of Isadore-Danning’s death. Prosecutors have charged Anderson as an adult.

According to a probable cause affidavit, both Seattle Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a man shot in a parking garage at approximately 11:17 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, at the intersection of Yesler Way and Occidental Avenue South.

When Seattle police arrived, they found Isadore-Danning lying unconscious in the middle of the parking lot entrance. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and his wife was standing next to him trying to help him. After police and firefighters rendered assistance, Seattle Fire Department personnel pronounced Isadore-Danning dead.

An autopsy of Danning revealed several fired projectiles in his body.

Through an investigation of the shooting, including witnesses and bystanders, law enforcement was able to identify Anderson as a suspect in the shooting. Witnesses and bystanders stated that Anderson shot Isadore-Danning after an argument between Isadore-Danning’s wife and Anderson’s girlfriend. One witness stated that the shooting occurred in connection with “baby mama drama.”

Isadore-Danning’s wife said Anderson shot Danning after he got out of his vehicle to stop a woman from throwing objects at the vehicle following a verbal argument.

A party associated with Anderson stated that Anderson drove away in his vehicle and said, “I’m not going to jail again,” after the party told Anderson that he planned to call the police.

According to Seattle police, Anderson was arrested on June 11 by homicide detectives and a U.S. Marshals Service task force and booked into the Patricia H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center, the King County juvenile detention center in Seattle, for investigation of the murder.

Prosecutors asked the court to hold Anderson in custody on $2 million bail.

According to court documents, Anderson was on probation in both Pierce County and King County for juvenile delinquency convictions on the day he allegedly killed Danning.

The court has scheduled Anderson’s arraignment for June 26 at the King County Courthouse in Seattle.
