2025: Four-star edge Julius Holly moves to Michigan

As announced on social media on Saturday afternoon, four-star edge Julius Holly has joined the Michigan Wolverines for 2025.

Michigan was one of four schools, along with Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas A&M, that the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Holly officially visited in June and narrowed his recruitment down to.

The Wolverines offered Holly in late May, and it sounds like Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito, the same guy who offered Holly his scholarship, was instrumental in his eventual signing.

“Ever since I met Coach Lou, he’s been a great person,” Holly told Brice Marich ($) of The Michigan Insider after his official visit. “Really friendly and I can see him and the rest of the Michigan team growing a lot on a personal level.”

When Holly received his offer, he spoke very positively about Michigan, with academic performance playing a role in his decision.

“I’m definitely interested considering they have one of the best, if not the best, engineering program in college football,” Holly told Marich ($). “That’s what I want to study. They’re just one of those schools that meets a lot of my criteria really well.”

Holly is the fourth defensive player to commit to Michigan, joining four-star prospects Nathaniel Marshall (flex), Jaylen Williams (flex) and Bobby Kanka (inside). The Wolverines now have the No. 15 recruiting class according to 247Sports’ Composite.

The Alpharetta, Georgia, native is ranked 301st in his class, 22nd among Edge players and 38th among his home state recruits. Check out highlights from Holly’s junior year below.
