Famous intermittent fasting doctor disappears on vacation

A British TV doctor known for his commitment to intermittent fasting has disappeared while on holiday on a Greek island. A search operation has been underway since Thursday.

Michael Mosley, who regularly appears as a health expert on British networks, has disappeared on the island of Symi, his agent confirmed to the Press Association. The 67-year-old disappeared on Wednesday afternoon after taking a coastal walk, according to The Daily Posta newspaper where Mosley is a columnist.

Mosley is known for his efforts to popularize the so-called 5:2 diet – in which you eat normally for five days a week and significantly reduce your calorie intake on the other two – and more recently the “Fast 800” diet, which combines intermittent fasting with a low-carb Mediterranean eating plan. Celebrities such as Benedict Cumberbatch and Jimmy Kimmel have adopted the diet.
