Chris Jericho makes a surprise appearance in CMLL to attack Mistico

The Forbidden Door has become a hub between AEW and CMLL in recent weeks. Last week, Mercedes Moné came unannounced to physically engage Stephanie Vaquer. This week, it was Chris Jericho’s turn to make a surprise appearance.

Arena Mexico was the hottest place to be on Friday night (June 28, 2024). After Mistico competed in a standard three-way match and the ring was cleared, he stayed behind to soak up the cheers. Then a masked man wearing a Mistico mask attacked El Rey de Plata y Oro. The commentators wondered if it was a crazed fan. Qué caramba es! Then they noticed that the mysterious attacker had the physique of a wrestler. Jericho hit a Codebreaker and fired off a Judas Effect before showing his face to the crowd.

Jericho put himself in the spotlight in a promotional event. After 30 years, Lionheart is back at Arena Mexico. Everyone says Jericho is the best wrestler of all time. Well, Lionheart is the best luchador of all time. Jericho has the heart of a lion and Mistico has the heart of a rat. Lionheart has challenged Mistico to a match anywhere, anytime, any place. Mistico has fired up the crowd to accept the challenge at Arena Mexico.

Backstage, Jericho explained that wrestling in Mexico was a big part of his life. Mistico calls Arena Mexico his home. It used to be Lionheart’s home. Jericho is coming to take Arena Mexico back from Mistico.

CMLL has not yet announced an official date for Mistico vs. Jericho at Arena Mexico.
