Taylor Swift references Travis Kelce at her Dublin show on the Eras Tour

Taylor Swift references Travis Kelce at her Dublin show on the Eras Tour

Taylor Swift made another brief reference to Travis Kelce during her second tour stop in Dublin. Swift imitated Kelce’s bow throw during her performance of the song “Midnight Rain” and sang the lines “And he never thinks of me / Except when I’m on TV.”

The pose is Kelce’s trademark when he enters the NFL stadium on game day and pretends to throw a bow into the crowd. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end plays at the team’s Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, so Kelce’s pose is a pun on the stadium’s name.

“I always wanted to do something when I ran out of the tunnel,” Kelce said on an October 2023 episode of his podcast “New Heights” with his older brother Jason Kelce. “I was like, ‘Man, you know what really motivated me?’ Always dreaming big (and) always reaching for the stars, so I’m just out there reaching for the stars, baby.”

This isn’t the first time Swift has mimicked her boyfriend’s pose. At previous tour stops, she struck the pose during her song “The Archer.”

While Travis has already attended several shows in the VIP section of the Girlfriend’s Tour, to the surprise of his fans, he made his debut on the Eras Tour last week. At Swift’s concert at Wembley Stadium, Kelce made a surprise appearance during her song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Dressed in a tuxedo and top hat, the NFL player literally sweeps Swift off her feet and immediately carries her along, causing the moment to go viral on social media.

As Swift does after every show, she reviewed the evening on Instagram and praised her surprise guests Hayley Williams, Gracie Abrams and Travis from Paramore.

“The first round at Wembley was so surreal. Looking out into a crowd of 90,000 fans every night and hearing that VOLUME… Those were some of the loudest crowds I’ve ever heard. The acoustic parts went GO. I got to sing ‘Castles Crumbling’ with @yelyahwilliams for the first time – I hadn’t performed with her since 2011 and man my heart was just so full of love for her and our friendship,” she began, before alluding to Travis’ concert debut. “Then the incredibly gifted and wonderful @gracieabrams came on and surprised the crowd with the first performance of our song ‘us’. And I’m still laughing my head off/swooning in love over @killatrav’s Eras tour debut (oh, emoji). I’ll never forget those shows. I can’t wait to do it five more times in August.”
