How Taylor Swift paid tribute to Travis Kelce despite missing the first show in Dublin

On Friday night, Taylor Swift performed her first Dublin concert at the Aviva Stadium. The star was in London last weekend, as was her boyfriend Travis Kelce, who, however, couldn’t make it to this stop on the Eras Tour. He was still on her mind.

While singing her song “Midnight Rain,” the star referenced Kelce by striking his archer pose, a gesture the NFL player makes toward fans before taking the field to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Swift has done this before, usually when singing “The Archer.”

In October, on his New heights In the podcast, Kelce explained the meaning of the archer pose.

“I do the archer pose when I enter the stadium because I wanted to do something when I ran out of the tunnel,” he said. “What really motivated me is to dream big and always reach for the stars. So I’m always out there reaching for the stars.”

The playful imitation wasn’t Swift’s only tribute to Kelce that night. Page Six reports that she also wore her diamond wire ring from Tiffany & Co. The piece of jewelry bears the couple’s initials.

The couple spent a lot of time together last weekend, with Kelce attending all three shows at Wembley Stadium. On the third night, he sat in the VIP box with her parents Scott and Andrea and then made a surprise appearance on stage. The football player wore a tuxedo and top hat, just like Swift’s dancers.

Swift shared photos of the big moment on Instagram, writing: “The first round at Wembley was so surreal. Looking out at 90,000 fans every night and hearing that VOLUME… Those were some of the loudest crowds I’ve ever heard. The acoustic parts were going LOOSE.”

She continued, “I got to sing ‘Castles Crumbling’ with @yelyahwilliams for the first time – I hadn’t performed with her since 2011 and man my heart was just so full of love for her and our friendship. Then the incredibly talented and wonderful @gracieabrams came on and surprised the crowd with the first rendition of our song ‘us’. And I’m still laughing my head off/swooning in love over @killatrav’s Eras tour debut 🥰 I’ll never forget these shows. I can’t wait to do it five more times in August.”
