Mina Kimes says Jordan Love is a better quarterback than Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff

Mina Kimes says Jordan Love is a better quarterback than Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff

To defend their title as NFC North Division champions, the Detroit Lions will likely face a tough test from the Green Bay Packers this year.

Appearance at “The Heavyweights” hosted by Spencer Raxter And Simply, ESPN analyst Mina Kimes said quarterback Jordan Love “gave it his all” in the second half of the 2023 NFL season.

Although Jared Goff has brought the team within one game of the Super Bowl and secured a long-term contract extension, the popular host/podcaster does not believe that the 29-year-old is the best quarterback in the division.

“Come on, guys, we watched on Thanksgiving. Let’s be honest. You have to be honest. The Lions are the better team, I look at my rankings, they’re better than the Packers. You can’t be all sunshine and roses and it would be a lie to pretend Jordan Love didn’t hit the gas in the second half of last season,” Kimes said. “I know it was only half a season, but that was a very young receiver group, which partially explains the adjustment period at the beginning.”

Kimes admits that the Packers have found their next franchise quarterback in Love and that the young signal caller is the best quarterback in the division.

“To me, he’s the best quarterback in the division right now. I think he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the NFC, in the NFL, and that sucks because, like (expletive), how did they do it again,” Kimes said. “That sucks, that’s got to be so upsetting as an NFC North fan. But the good news for you is you’ve got a lot of other players that are not only going to be good this year, but are going to be good for a long time. This team was built in the trenches, it was built extremely well, and you have a head coach and a GM that seem to be among the best in the NFL.”
