In the emotional letter, the doctor describes the horrific conditions in Gaza, where essentials such as food and water are scarce due to the ongoing conflict. The doctor – along with other parents risking their lives – speaks of the desperation and tragedy faced by the people of Gaza as they search for basic necessities amid constant bombardment.

“We came here after hearing about the arrival of flour trucks in the city. In Gaza there is no flour, no food and no water. We are under fire. Every time there are deaths and injuries. The bombings continue, but we cannot live without flour to feed our children.”

We came here with our shrouds in our hands. We came to get flour and we are dying. Tanks are shooting at us. Where is the world? Where is the world? They bring us flour and shoot at us. What kind of life is this? What are we supposed to do with this flour? Why are they shooting at us when they brought flour?

I left three children at home. I was shot three times. Either I come back with flour or I don’t come back.”
