They broke their silence after the band’s frontman, whose real name was Seth Binzer, died in his home at the age of 49 after a four-decade battle with drug and alcohol addiction.

The family told The Sun that despite his status as a rock star, Seth’s greatest “achievement” was his three children.

They said: “For Seth, the world was art – he loved every part of it, from music and fashion to graffiti, skateboarding and his hometown of Los Angeles.

“He loved his three boys more than anything and his devotion to his music and his fans never wavered.

“Seth struggled with addiction his entire life, and on a very public platform, which was particularly challenging.

“God knows he tried so hard to defeat his demons, but unfortunately he lost the battle.

“Our Hearts are devastated by his loss. Seth’s larger than life presence touched so many.

“Seth was a tormented soul, but he was beautiful and had a heart of gold.

“He will live on in his three sons, of whom he is most proud. gloriole Gage and Phoenix.”

Crazy Town once said that they have been through hell and come back, which has shaped them – and that they have had more than enough trouble.

The star’s cause of death was “deferred” pending toxicology results after his body was found next to drug paraphernalia and a lighter.

Seth’s death is one of many tragedies for the band, which rose to fame in 2000 with its single Butterfly and sold 1.5 million copies of its debut album The Gift Of Game.

Crazy Town split up in 2003 after eight years together due to allegations of excessive drug and alcohol use, which led to Seth having to enter rehab several times.

He loved his three boys more than anything and his devotion to his music and his fans never wavered.

The singer had a difficult childhood. As a child, he regularly raided the drug stash of his father, a graphic designer, and at the age of five he learned to roll a joint.

He had previously told Rolling Stone: “My father was this artsy guy who did a lot of cocaine and had weed all over the house.”

As a teenager, Seth sold weed and harder substances and at 18 was sentenced to 90 days in jail for robbing another drug dealer at gunpoint.

He recalled that in addition to writing songs, the band also completed coke- and speed-fueled marathons before being admitted to rehab in 1997.

A year later, Seth was in the alcoholics department Anonymous and before performances the band regularly recited the AA Prayer “God, give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. The courage to change the things I can.”

In 2000, he got drunk and was arrested for throwing a chair out of the window while drunk.

In a 2001 interview, Seth admitted that he had spent three months in prison for attempted burglary and regularly sold and used recreational drugs.

In the 2000s, Seth struggled with his addiction and sought help on the reality TV shows “Celebrity Rehab 1 and 2” and “Sober House 1 and 2.”

His struggle with drugs contributed to his separation from his first wife, Melissa Clark. He married her in 2002 and divorced nine years later due to irreconcilable differences.

It is unclear when Seth and Melissa, who have a son together named Halo, split up, but in 2008 he was dating Tracy Selor, with whom he had another son named Gage.

In 2010, he began dating British model Jasmine Lennard – who had previously had an affair with Simon Cowell – and had a son named Phoenix. They separated within two years.

The family is now trying to raise money through a fundraiser to support Seth’s three children.
