Kosovo is the newest addition to the Cigar Smoking World Cup and it was no surprise that the country’s first qualifying tournament was held at the newly opened Club Mareva in the capital city of Pristhina. The chief judge was, just as unsurprisingly, Marko Bilic, founder of Club Mareva and the CSWC.

“He was visibly moved to see his dream of holding competitions in various Mareva clubs around the world come true,” the CSWC website states.

The competition itself was close, with only one minute separating the winner from second place. In the end, Nikola Popovski from North Macedonia was crowned the first Kosovo champion when he smoked 1 hour, 21 minutes and 29 seconds. Dren Kllokoqi finished the race with 1 hour, 20 minutes and 25 seconds and Gentuar Deliu in third place achieved a time of 1 hour, 13 minutes and 11 seconds.

“Following the competition, a lively party was held to celebrate the success of the event and the opening of Club Mareva’s new flagship location on Prishtina’s most popular street,” the CSWC website states. “This opening event was a significant milestone for the Mareva family.”
