SGU’s Elyse Levesque joins MGM’s new science fiction series

Elyse Levesque from Stargate returns to science fiction, with a role in a new genre series for MGM.

Deadline reports that the former Stargate Universe Co-star will appear in new science fiction drama The earth remainsbased on the classic novel by George R. Stewart. The show is currently in production as a limited event series and will air on MGM+ this fall.

Levesque played Chloe Armstrong in SGUwhich ran for two seasons on the Syfy Channel. She confirmed the casting news on Instagram, saying, “What a dream to be part of this talented ensemble!”

Screenplay and executive producer: Todd Komarnicki (Defile) for MGM+ Studios, The earth remains follows the survivors of a plague that has almost wiped out humanity. Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) and Jessica Frances Dukes (Ozarks) Star.

Levesque plays Maurine, described as “beautiful but problematic,” a woman “accustomed to a life of wealth and sophistication” but despondent because of her past traumas.

Fans of science fiction television shows may also recognize other cast members from the new series, including Luisa D’Oliveira (The 100), Aaron Tveit (Schmigadoon!), Hilary McCormack (Spoilsport), Jenna Berman (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll (Ghosts) and Birkett Turton (iZombie).
