Mama’s crazy song about unexpected visitors is incredibly fitting: “Know that children live here”

Not many people like uninvited guests, especially parents with toddlers and young children. Thanks to the little tots, houses are always noisy, messy and in a bizarre state; far from clean and tidy. Moms have to give up their dreams of a sparkling clean house and try their luck at at least getting a clean floor. Emily Vondy – who can be found on Instagram under @emilyvondy – knows this scenario all too well as a mother and sang a hilarious song for each unannounced guest. The parody hysterically reflected on how you should expect more than just mess in homes with children and that an unexpected turn-up opens the doors to even messier surprises!

Vondy portrayed a guest who suddenly shows up at the door and makes the typical excuse, “I was in the area and thought I’d stop by.” The mother was kind enough to offer her a drink and suggested she could come in if she wanted. When the guest comes in, he finds confusing and wacky objects and happenings all over the house. Vondy shared the example from her own home. She had hilariously scribbled drawings on almost every wall, a Super Mario toy hanging from a rope from the stairs, messy floors, and a chair with an unruly white splash on it. Then Vondy came up with the perfect song in response to the guest’s reaction. “Wondering what this is? Don’t be afraid…if you drop by unannounced, just know there are kids living here,” she sang.

She walked to several spots where all sorts of toys and objects were hidden, saying, “You have to know that children live here.” Vondy came to the spot in front of her house first, where her children’s toys were. “We don’t do a garage sale… looks like this all year,” she sang. “Random bowls full of sticks and stones, cardboard houses, you better knock on them! Blue stickers on the wall, crockpot bathtub for the dolls,” Vondy sang as she gave a glimpse of the spots in her house. From the diapers “hidden” in every drawer to the “trip hazards on the floor,” Vondy was unfazed and used to all the shenanigans.

She came into the living room and had toys scattered on the sofa. “No place to sit in the living room, quite a random, disturbing bang,” she added. Showing more photos of her messy home, Vondy sang without remorse, “There are kids living here, yes, there are kids living here. When you come to our house, you know there are kids living here.” Wrapping up her creative song with a humorous ending, Vondy was stunned and frightened when her “guest” touched what looked like “chocolate or poop.” Luckily for her, it turned out to be chocolate.

“Instead of apologizing for the state of your house, just play them this song because an apology is not necessary! Unless they accidentally touch poop… then by all means apologize,” Vondy added in her caption. Parents could relate a little too much to the mom’s song and were overjoyed to use the same one. @abbybuahin noted, “My doormat says ‘Did you text me?'” @shamamiam wrote, “My husband likes to say that the decor of our house indicates that we have kids.” @poledad exclaimed, “I looked up at my fridge which had six Bluey stickers on it.” @mughee09 added, “I remember my mom saying if you’re coming to visit, you’re welcome!! If you came to see a clean house, make an appointment!”
