CeCe Winans and husband Alvin Love celebrate 40 years of marriage with a stunning photo shoot

Gospel singer CeCe Winans, 59, is showing this generation that true love still holds. The 15-time Grammy winner recently celebrated her 40th wedding anniversary with husband Alvin Love II. To celebrate 40 years of marital bliss, Winans and her beau did a special anniversary photo shoot with photographer Hannah Corwin in Nashville. While Winans wore a white floor-length gown reminiscent of a wedding dress and included a bouquet of white roses, Alvin wore a chic black tuxedo and bow tie.

The singer shared the pictures on her Instagram page and wrote: “God’s unconditional love for us makes it possible for us to love each other unconditionally!”

Alvin and CeCe married in 1984 and went on to have their children, Alvin Love III and Ashley Phillips. Their children had their own little ones, making the couple grandparents to Wyatt, Rooney and Honey.

Winans shared a reel with a number of other images from the photo shoot, featuring the couple’s adult children, their spouses and their grandchildren.

“Happy 40th anniversary! Thank you for choosing me Mr. Love and for making our lives so beautiful!!,” she captioned the video.

The veteran couple met after being introduced by CeCe’s late brother Ronald Winans, who was a good friend of Alvin’s at the time. They first met at a bowling alley when the gospel legend was just 17 years old. They made it official and married on June 23, 1984.

Their love story embodies the motto “when you know, you know,” because they knew from the very beginning that this would be a love for eternity. One secret of their long-lasting marriage is probably their shared faith. CeCe has been a pastor at Nashville Life Church together with Alvin since 2012.

In a 2017 interview, Winans also provided further insight into the beliefs that kept her foundation stable.

“I remember one time I was close to giving up,” she noted. “I heard the Holy Spirit say, ‘What is more important, your feelings or my perfect will?'”

She added: “We move too fast, we move because of the pain and our feelings that have been hurt, and Jesus says, ‘Hey, you hurt mine… but I stayed.'”
