Sabrina Carpenter is criticized for insensitive “stunt” to promote her hit

Sabrina Carpenter has been criticised for a ‘stunt’ she took part in earlier this week, with critics saying the pop star was posing as a member of the ‘working class’.

The pop star, who recently came under fire for one of her song lyrics, has gone from strength to strength with her recent music, but many feel that her latest idea wasn’t the smartest.

Carpenter showed up at Blank Street Coffee Shop in London, a popular multi-branched cafe, and worked a few hours as a barista.

To celebrate her hit single of the same name, which became one of the songs of the summer, she served free espresso to the hundreds of fans who flocked to the cafe.

However, some say this is more hurtful than just a cheeky marketing stunt. X-user @jaydenscomics wrote: “Celebrities who are millionaires pretending to be working class for a day is not cute or funny and we need to stop seeing it that way.”

Incredibly, the post had millions of views and over 73,000 likes at the time of writing, with some rushing to Carpenter’s aid while others insisted it was an insult to the people who actually have to do such a job.

Another X-user noted, “Working as a barista in a multi-thousand dollar Fendi outfit is INSANE.” Carpenter has not yet responded to this criticism.
