5 Taylor Acorn tracks that will prepare you for survival on the move

When we saw our girl Taylor Acorn Survival in motion Album announcement, we screamed, we can’t lie. We love Taylor Acorn in this household and that must not be forgotten. Her debut album Survival in motion is out on September 13th and we honestly don’t know how we’re going to survive the wait. Luckily Taylor gave us the title track “Survival In Motion” to tide us over until then <3

I feel like I’ve waited a lifetime to say, “I’m releasing a debut album,” but honestly, I’m so glad I waited this long.

Taylor Acorn

This got us thinking about all the other Taylor Acorn tracks we love. So we bring you our list of Taylor Acorn tracks you should listen to to get ready for Survival in motion.

“Survival in motion”

“Survival In Motion,” also known as our lifeline until the album drops, is Taylor’s latest release. As with all of her other releases, we instantly fell in love with it because… how could we not?

“We are all growing up, but we are still behind the
Then get up again as if it were a chore
Everyone looking for serotonin
Call it survival on the move”

This upbeat and catchy track delves into the rat race we all live in, doing our best to survive in a crazy world. Sometimes all you can really do to survive is get up and carry on. This track, along with “Greener,” hints at an album theme of carrying on and hoping for a better tomorrow, and honestly, we could use some hope!

“Greener”

This is probably one of our favorite Taylor Acorn tracks to be honest. “Greener” is anthemic pop punk at its finest and Taylor Acorn has created a track that we want to sing along to forever. It’s uplifting and makes us hopeful for the future. The grass really can be greener on the other side and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We often sing this song out loud and that should tell you all you need to know about its power as a pop punk track.

I feel like I have finally found my sound – I have fallen in love with every single song

Taylor Acorn

“Certified sedative”

The title song of Taylor’s Certified sedative EP will always be one of our favorites. This track, as well as the whole EP, captures mental health struggles and the feeling of being devastated, a feeling many of us know. Her powerful vocals and the anthemic quality of “Certified Depressant” make it a must-hear Taylor Acorn track in our opinion.

‘Coma’

Not only was “Coma” hard, “Coma” ft. Cassadee Pope was even harder. Two powerful female vocalists coming together on a track like this absolutely blew us away. “Coma” is intense, powerful, raw, and hits you if you’ve ever experienced anything similar. Coming out of a bad relationship or situation and feeling like you’re in a coma or not yourself all the time is all too real. “Coma” is such a solid track and will definitely leave you wanting more Taylor music.

‘Shapeshift’

“Shapeshifting” was one of the first Taylor Acorn tracks we ever heard and it’s very close to our hearts. It’s quite an emotional track and Taylor’s powerful vocals really bring those emotions across. It’s become one of our favorite songs because it feels like someone is really seeing us and recognizing the issues we may be facing. Taylor Acorn’s music from “Shapeshifting” to “Greener” is kind of beautiful when you think about it. It’s about growth and hope and really visualizing the idea that things will get better and we absolutely love that.

And there you have it, 5 tracks we think you should definitely listen to in preparation for this album. This is by no means an exhaustive list, because we love Taylor’s entire discography. We haven’t even talked about “High Horse” or “Basement” or “Famous Last Words” or… well, you get what I mean.

In addition to the publication of Survival in motionTaylor Acorn is going on tour! Not only will she be performing at Dashboard Confessional and Boys Like Girls, but she will also be doing some of her own headlining shows across the US. You can get tickets for these shows. What city will we see you in?
