President Biden is not the only famous politician who snapped at this Fox reporter

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy made headlines on Monday after asking President Joe Biden a question about inflation. He asked, “Do you think inflation is a political risk in the midterm elections?” It was Biden’s quiet response, caught on a hot mic, that got everyone talking. “More inflation is a big plus,” he said sarcastically. “What a stupid son of a bitch.”

If Americans didn’t know Doocy before, they certainly do now. He is known for asking Press Secretary Jen Psaki questions that sometimes seem antagonistic but lead to interesting banter between the two. The White House correspondent doesn’t just attack Democrats, though – he has done the same to Republicans, including in a famous incident with the late Senator John McCain.

In 2017, Doocy asked McCain about his turbulent relationship with then-President Donald Trump. Doocy asked, “Is your relationship with the president so broken that you don’t support anything he asks you to do?” The senator looked him straight in the eye and said, “Why would you say something so stupid? Why would you ask something so stupid, huh?” At that point, an insulted McCain went on the defensive. “My job as a U.S. senator, as a senator from Arizona, to which I was just re-elected,” he said to Doocy. “You think I’m going to behave in a way that I block everything just because I have a personal disagreement? That’s a stupid question.”

McCain had every right to feel insulted by the question, because he prided himself on putting the interests of the people he represented above his personal feelings. At the same time, Doocy asks tough questions of any politician, regardless of party. If there’s one thing both parties agree on, it’s that Doocy creates dramatic moments on the TV news and upsets a whole bunch of politicians.
