Tampa Bay Sun Football Club Announces Uniform Partners and Official Healthcare Providers

The Tampa Bay Sun Football Club recently introduced the first women’s professional sports jersey named “Tampa Bay” in collaboration with Tampa General Hospital and USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.

The Tampa Bay Sun Football Club, the new USL Super League Division I franchise, today announced its jersey trim and official healthcare provider partnership in advance of its inaugural season.

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and USF Health Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida have partnered with the new organization. TGH will be the prominent equipment partner and exclusive academic health system for the region’s first professional women’s soccer team.

The TGH logo will be featured prominently on both the Tampa Bay Sun Football Club’s home and away jerseys, and Tampa General will be the official presenting partner of the inaugural 2024–25 season.

“We are excited to be part of the Tampa Bay Sun’s historic inaugural season,” said John Couris, president and CEO of Tampa General Hospital. “It is an ideal combination of two world-class teams – Tampa General and Tampa Bay Sun. Through community outreach, player events and media platforms, we will partner with the Tampa Bay Sun to promote health and wellness throughout West Central Florida. Together, we will make Tampa Bay a premier destination for great sports and exceptional healthcare.”

USF Health will serve as the exclusive healthcare provider for the team. USF Health physicians and clinical staff will provide care and treatment to the players, including athletic training, team medical care, psychosocial care, nutritional counseling, physical therapy and patient counseling.

“Our collaboration with the Tampa Bay Sun Football Club is a testament to our commitment to sports medicine and public health,” said Eric Coris, MD, professor and chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and chief team physician for USF Athletic Medicine.

The highly anticipated jerseys are now available for pre-order at https://tampabaysunfc.com/shop with the first shipments arriving in August, just in time for the team’s home game against Dallas Trinity FC on Sunday, August 18 at the stunning Riverfront Stadium.

The inaugural jerseys are inspired by the Tampa Bay community and love of the beautiful game. The “Away Yellow” is a nod to the warm sun and the happy and optimistic community that makes Tampa Bay so successful. The “Home Navy” represents the warm waters in Tampa Bay.
