Famous albums Keith Urban played on before his fame

It’s no secret that Keith Urban is one of the biggest megastars in country music history, with 4 Grammys, 15 ACM Awards and 13 CMAs.

We all know and love his many Billboard hits, all of which began with his historic album, golden roadBut few people know that Urban was an accomplished studio and touring musician before he rose to fame as a solo artist.

After moving from Australia to the United States in 1992, Keith contributed his guitar riffs to many popular albums in the States. Although he was born in New Zealand, he admitted to being influenced by American bands such as Fleetwood Mac, which led to him bringing his unique style to country music.

Before emerging as a solo artist, he played on many popular country albums, including albums by Garth Brooks, Charlie Daniels, The Chicks (formerly Dixie Chicks), and others.

You’d have to be good to keep up with the powerful multi-instrumentalist Charlie Daniels. Daniels was widely known for his violin playing, but what many don’t know is that Daniels is also a great guitarist. This means that his guitarist has to be a tough guy, which undoubtedly gives Urban a chance to rock out.

Another great album in which the singer of “Blue Ain’t Your Color” contributed his guitar skills was FLY by the Chicks (formerly Dixie Chicks). This popular album by the famous trio shaped female country in the 90s and inspired many current artists in this genre.

Of course, Keith has a whole catalog of successful solo albums, has played on his own albums, and has delivered some of the most epic live performances in country music history, collaborating with many other megastars, be it with his voice or his epic guitar skills.

Here is a list of some of his most notable studio performances where he played his signature guitar before he became famous.
