Chris Rock once again provides his voice in the new edition of the animated series “Everybody Hates Chris”

Comedian, actor and producer Chris Rock will reprise his role as narrator in the new animated series “Everybody Still Hates Chris,” based on the original UPN/CW hit sitcom “Everybody Hates Chris.” You all remember that one, right? It was a pretty big show and definitely paved the way for a type of comedy that incorporated real life experiences of superstars. If I recall correctly, The Rock has one of those shows, just for comparison.

The reimagined series is scheduled to premiere later this year on Comedy Central. Rock will narrate the show as his adult self, reflecting on his childhood.

Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold will return as Chris’ parents Julius and Rochelle.

Tim Johnson Jr. will voice young Chris, while Ozioma Akagha and Terrence Little Gardenhigh will voice his younger siblings Tonya and Drew. Gunnar Sizemore will play Greg, Chris’ friend. Rock expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m really excited to show the world another fun side of my childhood.”

Showrunner Sanjay Shah added: “I wanted this job to get free tickets to a Chris Rock stand-up show, but in the end we made something we are proud of and that stays true to the original series that we all loved.”

The show, produced by Eye Animation Productions, began development in 2021 and was commissioned by Comedy Central in 2022. Rock will serve as executive producers alongside Shah and others.
