The lyrics of “Pedro” by Omar Apollo contain a very moving voice message from Pedro Pascal.

Omar Apollo has commented on the meaning behind the lyrics of “Pedro” and the Pedro Pascal voice in the song.

Fans of Omar Apollo and Pedro Pascal already know that the two stars are close friends. The 27-year-old singer and the 49-year-old actor have been spotted together. Speaking to GQ in May, Pedro said: “Omar is a very good friend of mine. I love his music. He is also someone who grew up bilingual, like me. I love being a friend on each other’s journeys.”

Now, Omar has released a song called “Pedro” on his new album “God Said No” which features a very emotional vocal from Pedro himself. But what is Omar’s “Pedro” lyrics about? Here’s what Omar said about Pedro and the song.

Pedro Pascal forgot he was cast in The Last of Us

In “Pedro,” Pedro talks about an overwhelming experience of grief. He says: I got my heart pretty broken / …I remember being literally brought to my knees / By a park bench / And I remember begging the park bench to come alive and save me / ‘Cause I didn’t feel like there was going to be another moment after that moment / But there was.

Speaking to Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Omar explained that he became closer to Pedro when Pedro asked him to speak to him for a profile. On the creation of “Pedro,” he said: “I played him ‘Glow’ and the song is about grief and the complexity of it. I had this idea that it would be really beautiful if he told a story about grief – a colossal loss.”

Omar then revealed: “He sent a voice message. It’s a very beautiful story. It’s heartbreaking.”

I’ll be right back – listening to “Pedro” on repeat and crying.

Omar Apollo – “Pedro” Lyrics

INTRODUCTION: Omar Apollo
If Meadows were a man
Would you trade me for your country?
Mine still have a misty dew
This is what I can offer you
If I could get the chance
Would you train me with your hands?
Hold me with a strength
This gives me a better perspective

INTERVIEW: Pedro Pascal
Mm, okay, I’m not sure how to start
I remember finishing a job
And I was too afraid to return to the USA
It was something like the second COVID wave in Europe
And, um, I flew from Budapest to Switzerland
This was a place I could go to buy some time.
And think about what I would do before Christmas
And I also arrived very shocked
Uh, I had an incredible time at a job
But my heart was, uh, quite shaken by something
And, uh, and I remember going
I think it must have been Lucerne
I remember thinking the saying was, “It brought me to my knees.”
And it was this kind of residential area
And I remember being literally brought to my knees
At a park bench, and, um
And I still remember asking the park bench to come to life and save me
Because I didn’t feel like there was another moment after that moment
But there was, there was
I can’t believe I’m sending you this
