I have stayed at all 5 Value Resorts at Disney World. There are only 2 that I would book again – for the right price.

I have stayed at all 5 Value Resorts at Disney World. There are only 2 that I would book again – for the right price.

As a Disney World annual passholder, I have been fortunate enough to stay at every hotel on property.

I’m happy to spend money on mid-range or luxury hotels, but a family of three can easily pay close to $10,000 to spend five days in the park and stay at a luxury resort. Ultimately, the inexpensive Disney resorts are usually the best option for my vacation budget.

There are five different budget resorts at Disney World: All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, Pop Century, and Art of Animation.

Now that I’ve ticked them all off my list of places to stay, I can safely say there are only two I would book again, and only if the price is right.

Here is my opinion on each value resort.

I only stay at the All-Star Movies if I can find a particularly cheap room.

Three All-Star Resorts share a property at Disney: All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports and All-Star Music.

I don’t normally stay at any of them, but I occasionally book Movies when I find a particularly good price using my Florida resident or annual passholder discount.

Disney’s All-Star Movies puts guests right in the middle of their favorite Disney movies. I love walking through the outdoor public areas and seeing giant statues of characters like Buzz Lightyear and Woody from “Toy Story” and Pongo and Perdy from “101 Dalmatians”.

Since the hotel is not connected to a Disney Transportation Aside from the free buses, I try to have a car when I stay here to make it easier to get to the parks.

All-Star Sports is a nice meeting place for sports fans, but it seems a bit outdated to me.

I love the sports theme at All-Star Sportsespecially the football area where the children can run around on a grassy pitch. But the general atmosphere of the resort seems old-fashioned to me.

Even if I could get a good deal on a room here, I would rather spend a little more money to stay at the Pop Century or one of the moderate holiday resort.

Of the All-Star resorts, All-Star Music is my least favorite.

I’ve never been a fan of the decor at All-Star Music.Megan duBois

My least favorite All-Star product is Disney’s All-Star Music.

I understand that it’s attractive to families on a budget, as the offerings are usually pretty good, but I just don’t like the themes.

Also, it’s located between sports and cinema complexes, so it can be difficult to find a parking space in the communal car parks. This is annoying as I rely on my car anyway as there aren’t many free transport options.

Because of the price and location, Pop Century is my favorite budget resort.

If I could only stay at a budget resort one more time, I would choose Disney’s Pop Century.

I love the larger-than-life, decade-specific themes of the buildings, and it’s fun to see the nostalgic nods to the past in the lobby.

It is usually also quite easy find a good offerAccommodation prices are often less than 200 USD per night.

Pop Century not only saves me money, but also offers easy access to Hollywood Studios and Epcot via the Disney Skyliner Gondolaswhich saves me time on trips to the parks.

Art of Animation is great for families, but the price can be a bit high.

The Art of Animation offers larger suites for up to six guests. Disney Parks

Disney’s Art of Animation has special family suites that sleep up to six people, which is ideal for larger groups traveling together. However, the resort is priced more like a mid-range (or even deluxe) Disney hotel and offers only the budget amenities.

Prices for family suites start at USD 623 per night. For comparison: rooms in the Disney’s Wilderness Lodge start at $552 per night.

Of course, Wilderness Lodge’s rooms only accommodate four people. But if your family is smaller, staying at the deluxe resort might be more cost-effective. Plus, you’ll have access to more upscale amenities.

Even standard rates for four-person rooms at the Art of Animation start at $292. For just a few dollars more per night, I would rather stay at a mediocre resort like Coronado Springs or Port Orleans. These prices start at $302 and $307, respectively.
