Crazy Town’s 49-year-old lead singer Shifty Shellshock died this week and the cause of death has now been announced.
His manager Howie Hubberman told People magazine: “The cause of death was a combination of prescription drugs and street drugs. Shifty was a friend and was desperate to heal himself – unfortunately no one, including me, had the right means to do so.”
Calling Shifty by his real name, Hubberman continued, “After his battle with addiction and the quick success of Crazy Town, Seth Binzer was never able to deal with his addiction on a more successful level with ‘Butterfly.’ We all tried, but ultimately we all failed, otherwise Shifty would still be here.”
People adds that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet confirmed the cause of death, pending toxicology reports.
