Ohio State’s Famous PreGame Tradition to Feature in EA College Football 25

The Buckeyes’ influence is undeniable.

According to multiple sources, Ohio State’s pregame tradition “Script Ohio” will be featured in EA College Football 25 on Wednesday.

The Ohio State University Marching Band began performing the ritual in 1936 under band director Eugene J. Weigel. Now, nearly 90 years later, the Buckeyes have the chance to see their centuries-old tradition in action – in a video game.

The icing on the cake will also appear in the game.

Perhaps the most memorable moment for the marching band was when they performed Michael Jackson’s dance “The Moonwalk” in their 2013 tribute.

EA College Football returns to the stage on July 19, more than 11 years after the release of the last edition.

Ohio State’s in-game songs include “Buckeye Battle Cry,” “Hang On Sloopy” and “We Don’t Give A Damn For The Whole State of Michigan,” all songs that will be played during Buckeyes football games at Ohio Stadium, as reported in October 2023.

“Buckeye Battle Cry” is played after touchdowns, successful 2-point conversions and successful field goals.

“Hang on Sloopy” is played between quarters.

“Across the Field (Fight the Team)” is played when the team runs out of the ball, makes a big defensive stop, recovers a fumble or takes the ball, and after a win.

“Carmen Ohio” is also played after an Ohio State win.

Eleven years after the last EA College Football game, “The Best Damn Band in the Land” gets the chance to be featured in the latest edition of the game.
