Sean Hannity interrupts CNN’s live discussion

Fox News presenter Sean Hannity and several Republicans interrupted the CNN post-debate in the Spin Room to greet the former Fox News colleague and current CNN analyst Chris Wallacewho sat on the committee.

Wallace famously moderated the first presidential debate in 2020 while a host on Fox News and struggled to convey the former president Donald Trump’s Interruptions were so severe that they set important precedents for the 2024 CNN debate, such as muted microphones.

After the CNN showdown on Thursday, Wallace spoke to the moderator Erin Burnett as a group of Republicans, including Rep. Matt Gaetz and Trump advisor Stephen Millerwent behind the device. Hannity pointed at the panel and shouted, teasing him.

During the analysis, Burnett asked, “You could take advantage of Chris’s statement and say another debate might change things. But this is a different situation, isn’t it? It’s about age.”

As a crowd moved behind him, Wallace began to answer: “Age, competence, acumen and the ability to do the job and the ability to do the job for another four and a half years… I mean, that addresses the biggest question people have about Joe Biden…”

“Hey Chris!” Hannity shouted. “We’re all available if you want us.”

“Hey,” Wallace replied.

Wallace noted, “All Republicans stand together.”

“They are all standing behind you together,” added another panelist.

As Wallace continued to look over his shoulder, Collins, skipping the moment, continued with her question: “The second debate isn’t until late September and it’s not even guaranteed to happen. I think the Biden team will clearly want to try again. As you heard earlier, Kate Bedingfield and the vice president said it was a one-off show where they talked about what each day looks like. I think that’s an open question for the Trump campaign and there are still three months to go. This will leave a lasting impression on voters for at least the next three months.”
