When the first presidential debate began on Thursday night, many viewers turned up the volume on their televisions and then immediately asked X: “What’s wrong with Biden’s voice?”

CNN’s audio seemed fine, but the president initially sounded like he was whispering or recovering from a cold.

On X, one user wrote: “Biden’s voice is giving me a sore throat. Does this man need some water?”

“I never noticed how ashen Joe Biden’s voice is,” posted another user.

One post said: “Biden’s rant should not lead you to conclude that Trump is not just talking nonsense.”

“Biden’s voice is so embarrassing,” said another post.

“Is it me? Or is Biden’s vote somehow sexC,” said @Tyler_Denaeee.

FOX 5 has reached out to the Biden administration to find out if the president has a cold, but at the time of this writing, we have not received a response.
