Williamsburg CEOS Club celebrates achieving 2023 goals – Mountain Messenger

Accepting the club’s community service award is Loretta Shirley, vice president of the Williamsburg CEOS Club (second from right). The club also received third place in Greenbrier County for achieving its family education goals of providing educational opportunities for families and communities.

On June 11, the Williamsburg CEOS Club celebrated the achievement of its 2023 goals at the Williamsburg Historical Foundation Museum. Attendees include Loretta Shirley, Linda Spencer, Blanche Knicely, Cassandria Perkins and LauraAnn Tiller.

The club was honored for its 2023 accomplishments at the county’s annual Achievement Day held May 16 at Union Hall in White Sulphur Springs. The club received recognition for its members’ volunteer community service totaling 1,000 hours in 2023.

The club meets on Tuesday, July 9th, beginning at 12 noon at the Williamsburg Historical Museum. The lesson for this meeting is: Teaching Children Traditional Appalachian Cooking II. Part Two: A fun way to teach children about our Appalachian heritage is to cook traditional recipes together and talk about connections to history, family and community.
