Megan Thee Stallion apparently fires back at Nicki Minaj with her new song “Rattle”

After she and Nicki Minaj had a quietly simmering dispute earlier this year, Megan Thee Stallion has apparently turned to her former ally with “Rattle,” a song on her recently released album “Megan.”

Megan, who is currently headlining her first “Hot Girl Summer” tour, seems to respond to Minaj in “Rattle” by subtly bashing her former collaborator. “I ain’t got no tea on me, that bitch thinks she TMZ,” she says at the beginning of the track and repeats this throughout.

Their problems came to a head earlier this year after Megan released “Hiss,” which opens her latest album. In the song, she raps, “These bitches ain’t mad at Megan, these bitches mad at Megan’s Law,” a clear jab at Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, who was convicted of attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old. Megan’s Law requires authorities to make all information about sex offenders public.

Minaj was not happy with the bar. She quickly released “Big Foot,” poking fun at an incident in which Megan was shot in the foot by imprisoned musician Tory Lanez.

In “Rattle,” Megan appears to address the aftermath of her feud with Minaj, talking about how the rapper brought JT, Bia, Maliibu Miitch, Katie Got Bandz and Akbar V onstage during a stop on her “Pink Friday 2” world tour in April. “I wanted everybody here with me, but it was my fault for being too kind,” she raps. “I thought everything was fine, but the whole time you were my enemy / Y’all only unite when y’all try to stand against me / Y’all weak bitches only team up when another bitch try to get rid of me.”

In her second verse, she gets more direct, referencing their 2019 collaboration “Hot Girl Summer.” “Damn bitch, it’s been four years / Worry about your man and your kid / Your life must be fucking boring if you’re still reminiscing about the shit we did / And I ain’t worried about the bigger bitch connection / You bitches all earned your spots in the fan club.”

Megan, her third studio album, is her first studio release on her own Hot Girl Productions after leaving 300 Entertainment and 1501 Certified. The record features collaborations with UGK, Victoria Monét and GloRilla, as well as the singles “Hiss”, “Boa” and “Cobra”.
