The Apple TV+ original series “Slow Horses,” a BAFTA Award-winning spy series, begins its fourth season on September 4.

The first two episodes will be released on that day, followed by a new episode weekly, every Wednesday until October 2. The series stars Oscar winner Gary Oldman and is based on Ghost Streetthe fourth novel in Mick Herron’s CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning spy series “Slough House”.

The black comedy follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents working in an MI5 dumping ground unkindly named Slough House. Season four begins with a bomb attack that exposes personal secrets and shakes the already unstable foundations of Slough House.

Oldman plays Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but misanthropic leader of the spies who end up in Slough House because of their career-damaging mistakes, as they repeatedly find themselves in the mists of the espionage world.

The returning ensemble cast also includes Oscar nominee Kristin Scott Thomas, BAFTA Scotland Award winner Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Oscar nominee Jonathan Pryce. SAG winner Hugo Weaving, BAFTA winner Joanna Scanlan, IFTA winner Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke and James Callis join Slow Horses in season four.

Since its premiere in 2022, Slow Horses has won two BAFTA Television Awards and received nine other nominations.
