Clairo releases “Nomad,” the latest song from “Charm”

Only a few weeks left until Clairo’s third studio album. charm. And before the album, she released a long-awaited song: “Nomad”.

On “Nomad,” Clairo finds it hard to accept love. Instead of giving up and tearing down her walls, Clairo looks for something fleeting.

“I’d rather be alone than a stranger / You’d come visit me late at night / I’d rather wake up alone than be reminded / that this time it was a dream,” she sings in the song’s chorus.

Although we’ve only just gotten the official studio version of “Nomad,” this song has been a favorite among Clairo fans for years. She first started playing the song at shows in 2022. But production by Leon Michels of El Michels Affair gives the song a bright, vulnerable touch.

According to a press release, the majority of the album was produced by Michels. With her third effort, Clairo seeks to “fend off her obsolescence in the digital age.” Much of the album uses live instruments, “bringing forth an even more powerful ensemble of horns, woodwinds and vintage synths while also giving the songs a rhythmic foundation.”

“Nomad” is the last taste of charm before the full album is released.
