The Miami Hurricanes sign Chris Ewald Jr.

The Miami Hurricanes football program has signed one of its greatest players to date in the class of 2025, four-star cornerback Chris Ewald Jr. Ewald is the 169th young player, the 21st CB and the 24th player in Florida from Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna.

The cornerback position was one of the biggest concerns early in the season due to a lack of depth on the roster. This is partly due to new secondary coach Chevis Jackson and co-defensive coordinators Lance Guidry and Derek Nicholson, but this might not be the only new addition to the Hurricanes’ secondary.

Ewald is currently 6’0″ tall, but weighs a modest 165 pounds. That’s nothing that a bulking diet from the program can’t fix, but there are still some question marks about his size. There are no question marks about his ability to play.

His ability to cover defenders on cross and deep routes and even in zone coverage is something you can’t teach. His light weight gives him the speed to keep up with anyone, and he’s one of the most technically skilled cornerbacks in Florida in this class. He also helped Chaminade-Madonna Prep win a Florida 1M title.

This is another successful signing for the Hurricanes, who are ranked 16th in recruiting according to 247Sports. With more love for the Canes, they could soon be back in the top 10 by the end of next week.
