Main trailer for Love Live! 1st film of the Nijigasaki film released

The first anime film in the upcoming Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu Hen The trilogy has received a main trailer that includes a look at a live performance scene.

New characters will also be shown.

Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu Hen is the continuation of the two seasons Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club TV anime and its OVA. The first film, Chapter 1shows the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club receiving an invitation to the Idol GPX (Grand Prix), after which Ayumu, Kasumi, Shizuku, Kanata, Ema and Lanzhu head to Okinawa. The Idol GPX participants compete against each other individually, which causes conflicting feelings for Ayumu.

Chapter 1 will premiere in Japan on September 6th.

The first season of the series ran from October to December 2020, while the second season ran from April to June 2022. The OVA was released in 2023. Crunchyroll describes the series as follows:

Nijigasaki High School is known for its diverse subjects and the freedom it grants its students. Second-year Yu Takasaki has fallen for the charm of the school’s idols and knocks on the door of the School Idol Club with her friend Ayumu Uehara. The members of this club are sometimes friends, sometimes rivals, and each contribute their own thoughts and motivations to the group.

Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is part of the Love Live! multimedia franchise. The starting cast was announced in 2017 as part of the now-defunct Love Live! School Idol Festival the game’s anniversary project “PERFECT Dream Project”.

One of the original actors, Tomori Kusunokileft her role as Setsuna Yuki on March 31, 2023 for medical reasons.
