Two attacking dogs maul neighbor’s Yorkie in South Euclid home

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – A resident of the 3800 block of East Antisdale Road reported June 17 that his neighbor’s Cane Corso dogs entered his backyard and bit his dog to death.

Officers went to the area and first found the owner of the delinquent dogs. She said the dogs escaped and while she was searching for them, she heard a noise coming from the neighbor’s house. When she got there, the neighbor started hitting her with a golf club, she said.

Officers then spoke with the owner of the dead dog. He explained that he had let his three Yorkies outside to relieve themselves and then heard barking. He found two of his dogs and then grabbed a golf club for protection as he went to search for the third dog, who he found dead in his driveway with his head severed and no findings.

The dog’s owner, a 49-year-old woman, was reported for dogs running loose. She had previously been reported for the same offense in December, and there have reportedly been ten calls related to lost dogs since 2020.

She later received documentation classifying one of the dogs as dangerous and was given 30 days to comply with the order.

It was discovered that their dogs had broken free by biting through a rubber rope holding together part of a chain link fence.

The dead dog’s head was never found and it is believed to have been eaten by one of the attacking dogs.
