How Taylor Swift’s middle name may have caused Travis Kelce’s blackout

Entertainment gossip and news from the Newsweek staff network

Travis Kelce recently shared a surprising – and pretty silly – revelation on Wednesday New heights Podcast episode.

In the June 26 episode of the podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end admitted that he always thought he would be the main character of Alice in Wonderland was actually named “Alison Wonderland.” His brainwave left fans speculating about the influence of his girlfriend Taylor Swift, especially since her middle name is Alison.

Jason Kelce, Travis’ brother, couldn’t stop laughing during the podcast episode. The discussion about the Disney classic came up when the brothers drank tea during the show and compared themselves to the characters Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

“I… found out over the summer that it was called ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and not ‘Alison Wonderland,'” admitted 34-year-old Travis. Jason, 36, still giggling, pointed out, “We saw the movie though. You know her name wasn’t Alison.” His brother replied, somewhat sheepishly, “I thought her name was. I never noticed once, dude.”

It’s safe to say that social media has been busy imagining how the conversation between the pair might have played out. One fan humorously posted on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Alison Wonderland” 😭 his ass sure called Taylor that and she was like, “What the f*** are you saying it’s Alice.” Another fan commented: “‘What’s your middle name?’ ‘Alison.’ ‘Cool, like Alison Wonderland?’ That’s how I imagine he found out it’s Alice.”

The podcast episode was recorded in London, where the Kelce brothers had traveled to record Taylor Swift’s Epoch Tour over the weekend. Although they did not elaborate on Travis’ surprise appearance on stage, they praised Swift’s incredible performance, especially Jason, as this was the first time he had seen Swift’s Epoch Tour Perfomance.

“It was so impressive. The thing is, Taylor is obviously a great singer-songwriter, but to go out there and perform at that level… dude, if I did what she did for a song, I’d have to change my clothes,” he hilariously explained in the episode.
