Shifty Shellshock Reveals Crazy Town’s Cause of Death

The cause of death of Shifty Shellshock, the frontman of the rap rock band Crazy Town, has been announced.

The star, whose real name was Seth Binzer, died of an accidental overdose. People“Seth Binzer never managed to overcome his addiction on a more successful level after his battle with addiction and Crazy Town’s quick success with ‘Butterfly,'” Crazy Town’s manager told the publication. “We all tried, but ultimately we all failed, otherwise Shifty would still be here.”

He continued: “The cause of death was a combination of prescription drugs and drugs bought on the street. Shifty was a friend and was desperate to heal himself – unfortunately no one had the right tools to do so, including me.”

The Los Angeles County Coroner is still waiting for a toxicology report for more information.

On Monday (June 24), according to the Los Angeles County Coroner, it was announced that Shellshock died at home at the age of 49.

Shellshock met Crazy Town co-founder Bret Mazer in 1992 and the band gained other members including Adam Goldstein (better known as DJ AM, who died of an accidental overdose in 2009), Rust Epique, Antonio Lorenzo Valli, James Bradley Jr. and others. The band released their debut album The gift of the game in November 1999. It peaked at number 9 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart dated March 3, 2001, and remained on the chart for 34 weeks.
