Michigan lottery player wins biggest Fantasy 5 jackpot
A Michigan resident won what the state lottery says is the largest Fantasy 5 jackpot this week.
The player won $963,040 in a drawing on Wednesday by matching all five numbers on the ticket he purchased at Smoker’s Express, a tobacco shop in New Baltimore, authorities said in a news release.
The winning numbers for June 26 were 04-05-08-22-38, the statement said.
The jackpot was the largest Fantasy 5 win since the game began in 2004. Another player came closest to the record on Jan. 17, 2020, with a $924,880 Fantasy 5 jackpot from an online ticket, the press release said.
Lottery officials are asking Wednesday’s winner to contact the lottery’s player services line at 844-917-6325 to schedule an appointment to pick up their prize.
Fantasy 5 tickets are only valid for one year from the drawing date, according to the press release. Drawings take place seven days a week at 7:29 p.m.
The unclaimed winnings come days after a Wayne County man won $6 million on Monday playing the Michigan Lottery’s 500X Money Maker instant game. The player, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased his ticket at a 7-Eleven in Clinton Township.
There were also lottery wins in June, including a lottery club in Michigan that won the New Year’s jackpot of $842.4 million on June 11.
