Victoria Monet’s Father’s Day post sparks woman’s claim that she is the singer’s half-sister

A woman claims on social media that the man in Victoria Monét’s The Father’s Day post is dedicated to her father, whom she hasn’t seen in over 20 years.

On Sunday, June 16, singer Victoria Monet shared a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter) with a picture of her and her father spending time together. She captioned the photo,

“We’re spending our first ever Father’s Day together. What a blessing! The little girl inside me is so happy. Healing.”

In response, a woman named Zhanae claimed that the man in Victoria Monét’s Post is also her father, “Anthony Detamoore.”

She tweeted:

“I’m glad you finally got to meet him. I’m 23 and I haven’t seen him in 20 years of my life… and he never bothered to contact me. Wow, ANTHONY DETAMOORE or however you spell it! So Victoria Monet is my half-sister?”

Zhanae later defended her decision to publicly denounce her father after receiving strong reactions.

She tweeted:

“I’m not even going to do it to you because you already have my peace of mind… but first of all, I’m not going to ruin a moment for you. If you watch my TikTok video, you’ll hear me say that I’m happy for her. I’m glad she got a chance to heal because I never had one.”

She continued,

“And secondly, my story deserves to be heard too. How dare you spend time with your other children on Father’s Day like you’re making your life better and you have other children out here. And I reached out before when I was younger but he wasn’t interested so you think I’ll reach out again???”

It is clear Mr Anthony has several estranged children, singer Victoria Monet shared on Angela Yeees Rise radio program last year that she first met him in her twenties and found out that she had a sister, probably different from Zhanae.

She noticed

“I was born an only child, but… I met my father in my twenties… and I discovered I had a sister.”

She described her sister as “beautiful,” but admitted that it was difficult for her to process all the new information about her family roots.
