Prince William’s “nightmare” at the Taylor Swift concert: Sprinting with George and Charlotte at the last minute, panicking, hiding…

Prince William’s night at Taylor Swift’s concert wasn’t quite the royal stroll you’d expect. Although he eventually made a grand entrance at the sold-out Wembley Stadium, where Swift’s boyfriend Travis and his family were also in attendance, it seems there was some hecticness in the run-up. The Prince of Wales reportedly arrived a little later than planned, leading to a last-minute dash with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Despite the pre-concert rush, the Welshmen reportedly enjoyed the show from their VIP box.

Prince William had “a nightmare” when he came on Swift’s show

Taylor Swift posted a selfie with members of the royal family and her boyfriend Travis Kelce with the message “Happy Bday M8!”, expressing her joy at having Prince William and his children as guests. (X)

According to insiders, they were late for their highly anticipated meet-and-greet with the pop star due to a last-minute rush. “They had a nightmare getting in, they were really late, but they had planned to get there early so they could have the meet-and-greet with Taylor beforehand because they knew they wanted to leave early,” the insider told Hello Magazine.

The day after Swift arrived in London, Buckingham Palace paid a special tribute to the Cruel Summer singer. The renowned military band outside the palace played the melody of Shake It Off, the first single from her fifth studio album 1989. The video was shared on the royal family’s official social media.

Prince William had a “brief” meet and greet with Taylor Swift

After the performance, the singer shared a selfie with Prince William and his two children on Instagram. The photo was reportedly taken just 25 minutes before the show. “They only had 25 minutes, so they did a quick meet-and-greet and then went to their box before the show. There was a bit of stress and panic about it because it was taking too long,” an insider claimed.

Prince William and his children “tried” not to attract too much attention

No pictures have emerged of the royals enjoying the three-hour stop on the Eras Tour, in a VIP box at the stadium, which has a capacity of around 90,000 people. Insiders claim that Prince William and his children made an effort to sit at the back of the room to attract as little attention as possible during the concert.

However, it seems the royals couldn’t resist when Swift’s 2014 hit “Shake It Off” came on. The future monarch was spotted at the front of the box, showing off his signature “Dad Dancing” moves during the performance. “There were moments when they were at the front, so there was a lot of swapping going on,” the insider added.

Meanwhile, William, who celebrated his 42nd birthday, also had some heartwarming moments with his children. At one point he even indulged in a little sing-sing with Princess Charlotte. “There was a sweet moment when William and Charlotte were sitting next to each other at the front and you could see they were singing a little bit together, which was sweet.”

Well, it’s not the first time William has met Taylor. The duo’s friendship dates back to 2013, when they performed Livin’ on a Prayer with Jon Bon Jovi at a charity event at Kensington Palace. The impromptu performance still makes William a little shy, as years later, in 2021, he recalled having to “obey like a puppy” when Swift asked him to come on stage with them.
