The developer of Knockout City is back with Midnight Murder Club and will launch in “Fall 2024”

Velan Studios, the team behind Knockout City, is back with a new game called Midnight Murder Club, coming in fall 2024.

Midnight Murder Club is an “exciting new first-person shooter party game featuring hide-and-seek and shooting in the dark” that was recently announced for PC. The team says that “the unique pitch-black gameplay sees players slowly creep through the pitch darkness of an old Victorian mansion, armed only with a flashlight and a revolver, trying to complete their mission and survive.”

Check out the reveal trailer below:

As they navigate the dark hallways, they must look out for other club members who may be hiding in the shadows and are more than willing to kill to be the last one standing. Midnight Murder Club is a new heart-wrenching and hilarious first person shooter party game for friends

Players must endure four thrilling game modes to survive in the Midnight Murder Club. It’s kill or be killed in Deathmatch, a 2v2v2 formation mode where everyone must score the most kills. Or try to survive the night in Free for All, where club members navigate the mansion alone and try to be the deadliest at the end of the round. In Hunter/Hunted mode, two players take on the role of the hunter to track down and stop the remaining four players from finding and burning four hidden dolls, while in Thief in the Night mode, players must sneak through the mansion in teams of two and steal valuable items. All game modes test players’ wits as they navigate through total darkness with only a flashlight to complete their survival mission.

“With Midnight Murder Club, we started with a simple game jam idea of a shooter in the dark and quickly realized we had something unique,” said Eric Feurstein, Game Director at Velan Studios. “By playing with light, darkness and sound, we can deliver an immersive gaming experience that gets players’ adrenaline pumping. Playing in total darkness is an immediately novel experience, where you’re afraid to turn on your flashlight for fear someone might see you, but you also don’t want to turn it off for fear of getting lost. You strain your ears to hear footsteps in the dark calling out to the shadows and fear how they’ll react. These are the primal fears we’re addressing with Midnight Murder Club.”

You can wishlist the game here on Steam. It will be released in Q4 2024.
