Warner Bros’ Max streaming service has discontinued Succession, KillingEve And His dark materials Screenwriter Francesca Gardiner as showrunner for the upcoming Harry Potter Series.

The Harry Potter The series was officially announced a year ago at the unveiling of Warner Bros Discovery’s rebranded flagship streamer Max and was touted as a “faithful adaptation” of JK Rowling’s iconic novel series about the sorcerer’s apprentice of the same name.

In announcing the appointments of Gardiner and Mylod, WBD referred to a multi-series venture and reiterated its commitment to ten years of adaptation.

Mylod worked on series such as Shameless, The affair And entourage.

The potter The series is being produced for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. Rowling will serve as executive producer alongside Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV and David Heyman of Heyday Films.

Yesterday, Rowling shared on X (formerly Twitter) that she had interviewed Gardiner and Mylod as part of the production team and that both had “a real passion” for Harry Potter.
