Early self-produced Taylor Swift CD sells for ,000 at auction – MOViN 92.5

One of the earliest known Taylor Swift At a recent auction, CDs sold for $12,505.

The Discountwhich features a photo of a prepubescent Taylor, an old phone number, an email address and a website for interested music executives, was created when Taylor was a sixth-grader looking to make her breakthrough.

“Given Taylor Swift’s power over music, it’s almost incomprehensible that Ms. Swift ever had to knock on doors to get people to hear her music,” Goldin Auctions’ listing reads. “We all have to start somewhere, and Swift’s ascent into the pantheon of music legends began when she was 11 years old.”

The self-produced CD is signed by Swift herself. It contains Dolly Parton And The Chicks Cover, Swift’s interpretation of a classic Olivia Newton John Ballad from Fatand an original song. The track list is as follows: “Am I Ready For Love (Celina Berman-Gray),” “Can I go with you (Greg McElrath/Taylor Swift), “There’s Your Trouble”, “One Way Ticket”, “Here You Come Again” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You”.

“Swift, who grew up outside of Reading, PA, regularly traveled to New York City for singing lessons, learned guitar from a local computer repair/guitar instructor at age 12, and performed in cafes in the chic seaside town of Stone Harbor, New Jersey,” the listing from The Goldin Auctions states. “At age 11, Swift traveled to Nashville with her mother to offer her demo, which included covers of Dolly Parton and (The) Chicks songs.”
