The mother of missing Taylor Casey sent a heartbreaking final text message before she disappeared for a yoga retreat in the Bahamas.
Taylor Casey, 41, was last seen at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat on Paradise Island on June 19. However, it was not until two days later that the Royal Bahamas Police Force issued a missing person poster alerting the public to Casey’s disappearance.
The missing woman’s mother, Colette Seymore, is “deeply concerned” and suspects her daughter may be “in danger.” She is part of a small group heading to the Bahamas on Wednesday to join the search effort. She flew to the island and Nassau on Tuesday to contact local authorities.

Colette also shared the last text message she received from her daughter, which reads: “I miss you mommy. I miss you. Look, I’m at the beach.” A distraught Colette told ABC News how she spoke to her daughter every day, adding: “Taylor always calls me, keeps in touch. Taylor sent me beautiful pictures from the Bahamas.”
Yoga was, in fact, Casey’s passion – she had been practicing it for 15 years – and she was reportedly excited to return to Chicago after her retreat to “pass on her newfound knowledge and experience to others,” the family statement continued.
The family is now asking anyone who has information about her whereabouts to come forward and stresses that “every lead is crucial to finding her.” She is described as a light-skinned black woman who is 5’10” tall, weighs about 143 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.

On Tuesday, AP emailed the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat asking for comment on the woman’s disappearance, but there was no immediate response. PEOPLE Magazine reports that the retreat confirmed her disappearance and explained that organizers became concerned when Casey didn’t show up for class on June 20. That’s when they realized she was gone.
The family has set up a Facebook page called “Find Taylor Casey” to aid in their search. Anyone with information about her disappearance is invited to post on the page.
According to the CSJ Report, a local independent news source, friends of Casey reportedly looked through photos and videos of the retreat but could not find her in any of them.
Anyone with information regarding Casey’s disappearance is asked to contact the Royal Bahamas Police Force at 502-9991/2 or Crime Stoppers at 328-8477.
