Woman says Love Island USA contestant is her ‘4-year situational relationship’

A Love Island USA A candidate is being sharply attacked because he has allegedly been in a “situational relationship” with a woman named Hannah Melin for four years.

In a viral TikTok video that has been viewed over 213,000 times since it was posted on Tuesday, Melin (@thehannahmelin) expressed her horror at discovering that someone she allegedly had a relationship with appeared on the show.

“So I went for my morning walk and watched the latest episode of Love Island,” she began in the clip.

According to IMDb, Love Island USA is the US version of a British reality TV show in which a group of contestants, known as “Islanders”, live together in isolation in a villa. The contestants are under constant surveillance and compete to remain paired with another contestant.

Anyone left alone during the elimination will be kicked out of the show. Contestants can also be voted out.

To provide variety, new candidates, so-called “bombshells,” are added throughout the season.

Melin said that toward the end of the episode she watched that morning, new “bombshells” were announced. She was surprised to find out that one of them was a man she had allegedly been in a “situation” with for four years.

“I was shocked,” the woman said. “My jaw had never dropped so far in my life.”

The woman also identified the candidate: Kenny. He is one of three new bombs Love Island USA was announced on Tuesday via Instagram.

Melin said she was especially shocked to see Kenny on the show because he had recently been in contact with her.

“He’s been sending me messages for the past few months,” she claimed. “He said something like, ‘I miss you. … Come visit me in Texas. I’ll pay for your flight. I’ll come visit you in Richmond in August.'”

However, she believes the contestant ignored her after entering the show.

“The man never left me on ‘delivered’ in all the time I’ve known him and I was very confused, but I guess it was just because he was in Fiji (and) didn’t have his phone,” she said, referring to the fact that contestants are not allowed to use their cellphones while filming the show.

In the comments section of the TikToker’s video, many were surprised by the accusation.

“4 years of situationship is maddening,” wrote user Whitney.

“Please tag me when you post your reactions,” added another viewer.

On the show, Kenny boasted that he was a 10 out of 10 and that the women would probably all be interested in him. He was also seen flirting with newly single islander JaNa Craig. They shared some intimate moments and even kissed.

Melin is not the only woman on TikTok who claims to have had an affair with the candidate.

TikToker Phoebe Johnson (@Phoebelucreative) posted a video on the platform sharing Kenny’s debut on the show and claiming he was her boyfriend back in high school.

“We will vote him out ASAP if you need a queen,” commented user Kate.

“This will go down as the BEST SEASON of Love Island USA,” wrote user It Girl. “The drama, the chaos, I’m in for ALL of it.”
