Camila Cabello says she’s tired of hearing two of her most popular songs

Some of Camila Cabello’s songs will “never be the same again” for her.

In a cover story interview for ComplexThe 27-year-old “Shameless” singer talks about two of her own songs that she no longer liked – “Havana” from 2018 and “Señorita” from 2019.

Although Cabello is grateful for both songs, she is tired of hearing “Señorita” instead of “Havana.”

“I think you always have a fear when a song becomes so successful that it will overtake you… Of course I think it’s great that they were so successful. But it does make people cling to you in a way,” she told the outlet.

Speaking about “Señorita,” which she produced with ex-boyfriend Shawn Mendes, whom she dated for more than two years before rumors emerged that the two would rekindle their romance in 2023, she said, “I was in a really public relationship and as a woman you think, I don’t want this couple thing to be my new identity.”

In May, Cabello announced on social media that she would release her fourth album. C,XOXO.

“NEW ALBUM C.XOXO COMES OUT JUNE 28TH,” she wrote alongside the cover of the upcoming LP, a close-up photo of her licking a lollipop that has stained her tongue blue.

In March, the former Fifth Harmony singer ushered in her new era with the electropop song “I Luv It” with rapper Playboi Carti. Cabello surprised her fans with a new sound and platinum blonde hair.

Since then, she has also released her collaboration with Lil Nas X on “He Knows” and most recently “Chanel No. 5.”

Before the release of her latest song, Cabello talked about how it fits thematically into the overall message of C, XOXO.

“The world of C, XOXO is very sensual, in the true sense of the word. Sensual means ‘of the senses’ – taste, touch, sight, smell, hearing,” wrote the “Bam Bam” artist.

She added that she wanted to transport listeners “to the same sensory world I was in when I wrote the song.”

“And most of all, I want us to feel powerful when we are seen, heard, touched, breathed and tasted. This fragrance from Chanel No. 5 brought it to life,” Cabello said.

Finally, the pop star told her fans that “Chanel No. 5” was her “gift” to them, ahead of the LP’s release on Friday, June 28.
