Madonna fan in wheelchair reacts to the singer’s insults for remaining seated during the concert

The Madonna fan and wheelchair user who was attacked by the pop star for sitting during one of her concerts breaks her silence on the viral incident.

In a new Interview with TMZVanessa Gorman said she had no hard feelings toward the 65-year-old “Material Girl” singer and defended her for what she believed was an honest mistake.

“Some people are in wheelchairs and can stand. She had no idea I was paralyzed,” Gorman, who has been paralyzed since a car accident in 1999, told the outlet on Friday.

Gorman reportedly sat on the floor right next to the stage during the show and said she was surprised that Madonna didn’t immediately notice that she was sitting in a bright pink wheelchair.

She went on to tell TMZ that she responded to Madonna’s mistake by loudly proclaiming her love for the singer. Gorman added that she thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the show, which reportedly took place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, last month.

Footage of the exchange between Madonna and Gorman at the show quickly surfaced on social media. a clipMadonna can be heard asking Gorman: “What are you doing over there where you’re sitting?”

After the Queen of Pop stepped to the edge of the stage to apparently give another speech to Gorman, she changed her tone.

“Oh, okay. Politically incorrect. Sorry. I’m glad you’re here,” she said at the microphone to Gorman in the audience.

Representatives for Madonna did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

This is not the only faux pas that occurred during Madonna’s Celebration Tour.

Last month, the estate of Luther Vandross criticized the entertainer for mistakenly including the late R&B singer in the AIDS tribute played during her performance of “Live to Tell.”

Vandross died in 2005 at the age of 54 from “complications of a stroke he suffered two years earlier,” a representative of his estate said in a Explanation on page six.

Madonna removed Vandross from the tribute at the request of his estate.
