Chris Cortez of the Aggies releases statement after Schlossnagles’ departure

Unless you’ve been living in complete isolation for the last 24 hours, you’ve heard that Texas A&M baseball head coach Jim Schlossnagle and his team are leaving Aggieland for Texas.

If that isn’t the ultimate heel turn in the eyes of A&M fans, I don’t know what is. Coaches always leave, though, and they usually say they aren’t interested in another job before looking for another position.

Not only did this situation feel like the normal fan feeling of being stabbed in the back, but so did the fact that Schlossnagle is transferring to A&M’s archrival. The worst part of the whole situation is that it destroyed one of the best seasons of any Texas A&M sports team. Aggie relief pitcher Chris Cortez echoed the frustration of most fans after the news was confirmed.
