The blind AGT singer from Indonesia wowed the audience and the judges with her renditions of “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word” by Elton John and a duet with Leona Lewis on the song “Run”. What happened to blind AGT singer Putri Ariani?

Blind AGT singer Putri Ariani has released several successful singles and has become a sensation in Southeast Asia, with numerous live shows in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Her music video for an original song titled “Perfect Liar” has been viewed over 6.5 million times on YouTube. Ariani was also featured as a vocalist on “Who I Am” by Norwegian DJ and record producer Alan Walker. The music video for the song, which also features singer-songwriter Peder Elias, has been viewed over 29 million times on YouTube.

In August 2023, Ariani took part in the Asian tour for the Hitman: David Foster and Friends concert. There she sang “Beauty and the Beast” in a duet with Peabo Bryson, who sang the original Disney song with Celine Dion. In May 2024, she performed a cover of Gloria Gaynor’s “Survive” at a major concert in Penang, Malaysia.

At her AGT audition, Ariani said she wanted to be accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. According to the website Coconuts, she received a full scholarship from the Indonesian government to attend the college of her choice in June 2023. It is currently unclear if she has been accepted into the Juilliard School, although she has visited the university’s campus in October 2023.

However, given her busy touring schedule, it’s understandable if she decides to skip college altogether and focus on her budding music career. Given her popularity, it’s possible Ariani could appear as a special guest on future seasons of America’s Got Talent.
