Texas coach Steve Sarkisian on Tuesday signed Pearland Shadow Creed receiver Chris Stewart, a four-star prospect, as a second player for the Longhorns’ 2026 recruiting class.

The Texas football team has signed a second new addition for 2026: Four-star wide receiver Chris Stewart joined the Longhorns on Tuesday.

Stewart is UT’s other 2026 prospect, joining five-star quarterback Dia Bell. He is a product of Pearland Shadow Creek and also had offers from Alabama, Arkansas and Baylor.

“They were at the top of my list and it felt like the right choice,” Stewart told 247Sports. “I have a relationship with coach (Steve) Sark and coach Chris (Jackson) and I felt like coach Chris has a great relationship with my parents, so I felt like it would be a great decision.”

In 2023, Stewart proved to be one of the top receivers, making 35 catches for 654 yards and 10 touchdowns in 11 games. At 6’0″ and 175 pounds, he still has plenty of room to grow in his junior season.

The Longhorns lost three receivers to the 2024 NFL Draft but quickly rebounded with the signing of five-star recruit Ryan Wingo and transfer portal additions such as Silas Bolden, Isaiah Bond and Matthew Golden. Texas’ class of 2025 currently has no receivers.
