The club is ready to pursue a long-term plan to sign the Tottenham Hotspur star

The transfer saga surrounding a Tottenham Hotspur player who could leave the club this summer could drag on into the late stages of the transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou is overseeing another restructuring of the squad at Tottenham after players such as Japhet Tanganga and Ryan Sessegnon have already left the club.

Midfielder Giovani Lo Celso was a substitute under Postecoglou last season and is attracting interest from his former club Real Betis this summer.

However, it is claimed that the Spurs midfielder has emerged as the Spanish club’s priority target this summer.

According to Spanish outlet ABC SevilleBetis is willing to play long in the current transfer window to get him.

The club are aware that signing the midfielder will not be an easy task given his wages and the transfer fee Spurs are likely to demand.

However, Betis are ready to work hard until the end of the summer transfer window to make their dream of Lo Celso returning to the Estadio Benito Villamarin come true.

Lo Celso wants to play more football and would like to return to his old stomping ground Betis this summer.

However, any deal would have to work for Tottenham and Spurs have a reputation for being tough negotiators in the market.
